MEET BEN

Benoit (Ben) Bergeret started strategies.ai in 2017 to bring his broad, global technology business experience to European clients.

Passionate about deep tech, more specifically artificial intelligence and its applications, his path brought him from being an executive in large corporations (Bull, IBM, Lucent Technologies , Vinci) to becoming a serial startup entrepreneur in Europe and in the United States, where he lived for 17 years.

Trained in “Industrial Applications of Artificial Intelligence” (Master’s degree from the Compiègne University of Technology (UTC)), he is part of the first European cohort of engineers trained to the applications of AI. Early on, he was an AI scientist with the French Air Force working on in-flight AI systems for the Rafale jet fighter, and at Arcelor Mittal developing automated defect detection artificial vision systems and NLP systems for automated order processing.

Benoît started and developed businesses in the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Japan, Korea and Turkey, and established close partnerships with governments, universities and research labs worldwide. He recently leveraged his business acumen, his understanding of technology and its potential, and his ability to lead people, to successively turn around three deep tech companies.

Convinced of the potential for positive transformation of the economy brought about by the recent maturation of artificial intelligence technologies, in 2017 he came back to Europe where, with strategies.ai, he advises companies large and small on their strategies for adopting AI to transform their businesses.

Benoît is a five-year member of the steering committee of the French Tech Acceleration fund, a public investment fund endowed with 215 MEUR, which aims at developing the technology startup ecosystem in France and abroad. Benoît is Honorary Ambassador of La French Tech in San Francisco. He is frequently consulted as an expert on applied artificial intelligence and on the creation of economic dynamics in ecosystems by the cabinets of the French Junior Ministries for Digital Economy, since their creation in 2010. A founding Member and the treasurer of the Hub France IA (“French AI Hub”), an industry non-profit whose object is to be the “operating system” of the AI ecosystem in France and Europe, he operates at the core of European AI.

In his spare time, he builds large-scale art installations in the desert, organizes un-conferences, and runs ultra-trail distances.
